Babysittin'

Vincent had a feeling the thrill of adventure would call to a baby(especially a Dubois baby), so he ignored his hair being tugged and followed the direction Zacharie seemed to want to go. "Alright! Bo? We lookin' for Bo? He's out... hey, how about we do some spy work?" He lowered his voice to a playful, conspiratorial tone, knowing the kid wouldn't understand but, still. "We're partners in crime, lil man!"

With that, he took off at a slow pace, making big, dramatically slow steps for the sake of his young protege. He knew too much snooping would get him in trouble, but the temptation was too strong to resist. He crept up to the door and peeked in, leaning his head in so Zacharie could see the dark room too. "Okay, cadet. Where to?"

"Crime." Zacharie agreed, bouncing on the blond's shoulders as much as he could while being held on to. "Bo!" He peered into the dark room but really couldn't see much aside from the faint outline of the window. "Bo?" He patted Vincent's head to get his attention. "Nny, be-time?" Was that where Andre went? Was he sleeping because it was dark? That would make sense but Andre never went to bed without him. Maybe he was very tired? "Bo?"

Be-time? Bee time? Vincent contemplated what the kid wanted, because he really probably didn't need bees... want them? Yes, probably. An image of bees, bees on fire, zooming around the house popped into Vincent's head for a minute but he stashed the idea for later. Flaming flying bees were not baby-safe.

After he filed away that idea, Vincent realized Zacharie was talking about bedtime, and got an idea. "Yes, bedtime. Bo is very sleepy, shhh!" He shifted Zacharie safely on his shoulders, held him with one hand for a moment, to put a finger in front of his lips as he backed out of the room. "Sleep tight, Bo!" He said in a stage whisper, slowly closing the door so Zacharie could say goodnight too.

So he had been right! Andre was just really sleepy so he went to bed early and left Vincent here to keep him company. "Bo, Ni-Ni." He whispered before mimicking the shushing noise that the blond had made. "Seep..." He then devolved into incoherent babbling as the door quietly clicked shut.

With that mystery solved, the toddler pointed to his own bedroom. "Dead!"
